About This Light
Awa is Japanese for bubble, and the shade has that soft, slightly flattened roundness: an oval of tinted glass, wider than it is tall, with an inner glass collar set around the lamp holder. Lit, the filament glows at the centre and the curve of the glass picks up quiet highlights around it.
The four tints set different moods. Clear is light, almost champagne; Smoke Grey is cool and graphic; Amber casts a honeyed glow; Coffee reads deep and warm. One suits a small dining table or the space beside a bed, and two or three in a row work over a kitchen island.
