Futaba means two leaves, the first pair a seedling puts out. The sconce works from the same simple idea: one slender stem bends into a U at a small round wall plate and rises as two arms of different heights, each tipped with a short frosted tube of light. On a plain wall it reads almost like a line drawing.
The frosted acrylic softens the LEDs into an even glow, enough to read by at a bedside and calm enough for a hallway or stair wall. It can be mounted with the tubes rising from the plate, as pictured, or turned over so they hang down from it.
