About This Light
Gaku takes its name from the Japanese word for a picture frame, and it is made to sit just above one. A slim 11.8 in light bar on curved arms lays a soft, warm line of light down across a painting, a print or a mirror, so the work comes forward in the evening while the rest of the wall stays calm.
Antique Brass is an aged brass-bronze finish that sits easily with oak and walnut frames and limewashed or plaster walls; Black is a matte finish for pale frames and white walls. It suits small and mid-size pieces best, where the bar spans roughly half the width of the frame, and the bar tilts so you can aim the light onto the canvas rather than past it.
