The ribs of the white ceramic catch the warm light, so the shade glows softly while a clear pool falls on the table below.

A knurled knob on the brass-tone socket turns it on and off by hand, handy above a bedside or a desk.

  • Sized for small spaces

At 24 cm (9.4 in) across it suits a kitchen counter, a small dining table or a bedside; two or three in a row suit an island.

About This Light

Hakuji is a wide, shallow cone of pleated white ceramic, hung from a brass-tone socket on a twisted fabric cord. The ribs of the shade catch the warm light from the bulb beneath, so the pleats glow softly while a clear pool of light falls on the table below.

At 24 cm across it is sized for a kitchen counter, a small dining table or a bedside, and two or three in a row work well over an island. A knurled knob on the socket switches it on and off by hand.

  • Size: shade 24 cm (9.4 in) wide; shade and socket 16 cm (6.3 in) tall; cord 120 cm (47 in); overall hanging length about 136 cm (53.5 in)
  • Shade: pleated white ceramic
  • Fittings: brass-tone alloy socket, collar and ceiling canopy
  • Cord: twisted fabric
  • Switch: knob switch on the socket
  • Bulb: screw-in socket below the shade; a clear globe bulb suits the look
  • Voltage: 90–260V AC, suitable for standard US 120V wiring

Installation and care: Have a qualified electrician connect the canopy to a ceiling junction box. Wipe the ceramic with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry the fittings after.

01

Made for a small table

Over a small dining or breakfast table, Hakuji lets its pleats glow softly while a clear pool of warm light falls on the table below. It is sized for compact spaces, and two or three in a row work well over a kitchen island.

02

Pleated ceramic, brass-tone fittings

The shade is white ceramic formed into fine vertical pleats, so the ribs catch the light and glow. It hangs from a brass-tone alloy socket and collar on a twisted fabric cord, with a matching round ceiling canopy, and a clear globe bulb suits the look.

03

A knob switch on the socket

A knurled knob on the socket switches it on and off by hand, so a bedside or desk light needs no trip to the wall. A qualified electrician connects the canopy to a ceiling junction box, and it runs on 90–260V AC for standard US 120V wiring. Wipe the ceramic with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry the fittings after.

Questions

How long is the cord, and how low does it hang?

The cord is 120 cm (47 in), for an overall hanging length of about 136 cm (53.5 in) including the shade and socket. Over a table or counter, the bottom of the shade usually looks best about 75–90 cm (30–36 in) above the surface.

Is it real ceramic and brass?

The shade is white ceramic. The socket, collar and ceiling canopy are a brass-tone alloy rather than solid brass, and the cord is twisted fabric.

How long does delivery take, and can I return it?

Orders are processed in 1-3 days and delivered in 7-15 days from our suppliers' warehouses overseas. If it isn't right, you have 30 days to return it, and we cover the return shipping.
