About This Light
Hamon is named for the rippled temper line along a Japanese blade, and its shade carries the same quiet detail: a wide, shallow dish of finely ribbed glass, 12.2 in across, that breaks the light of a single bulb into soft vertical lines. Lit, the glass glows with its own colour while warm light falls straight down onto the table, counter or console beneath it.
Choose deep bottle Green for rooms of oak, clay and plaster, warm honey Amber for a lower, late-evening glow, or Clear to keep the ribbing crisp and let a filament bulb show through. A brass-tone cap and a twisted fabric cord finish it plainly, and the cord adjusts so the shade can hang low over a dining table or kitchen island, or sit higher in a hallway or entry.
