About This Light

Kikyo is a small wall lamp with a moulded glass shade shaped like an open bellflower: ribbed in a soft wave pattern and finished with a scalloped rim. It hangs from a knurled brass lamp head on a short brass arm, and the elbow pivots so you can angle the shade toward a chair or a pillow. A small rotary switch on the lamp head turns it on and off.

The glass sets the mood. Amber gives a honey-gold light and a ripple of pattern on the wall; Green is a deep emerald that glows green-gold when lit; Clear is the brightest, with the ribs catching the light like water. Use a pair beside a bed, one over a reading chair, or two either side of a hallway mirror.

  • Shade: 15 cm (5.9 in) across, 12 cm (4.7 in) tall, moulded ribbed glass in amber, green or clear
  • Projection: about 16 cm (6.3 in) from the wall to the centre of the shade
  • Materials: brass lamp head and swing arm; round iron backplate, 12 cm (4.7 in), with a brass-toned finish
  • Switch: rotary switch on the lamp head
  • Bulb: E27 socket for one bulb; a warm filament-style bulb shows the glass at its best
  • Voltage: 90–260V AC, suitable for standard US 120V wiring
  • Mounting: hardwired to a wall junction box

Installation and care: Have a qualified electrician connect it to a wall junction box. Clean the glass with a soft cloth and mild glass cleaner; dust the brass with a dry cloth.

01

A glow beside a reading chair

Over a reading chair, Kikyo's amber glass gives a honey-gold light and a ripple of pattern on the wall. It suits one over a chair, a pair beside a bed or two either side of a hallway mirror.

Ribbed glass and knurled brass

The moulded glass shade is ribbed in a soft wave pattern and finished with a scalloped rim, like an open bellflower. It hangs from a knurled brass lamp head on a short brass arm, in front of a round 12 cm (4.7 in) backplate.

Angle it, switch it at the lamp

The elbow pivots so you can angle the shade toward a pillow or a chair, and a small rotary switch on the lamp head turns it on and off. Clean the glass with a soft cloth and mild glass cleaner, and dust the brass with a dry cloth.

Questions

How big is it, and how far does it stick out?

The glass shade is 15 cm (5.9 in) across and 12 cm (4.7 in) tall, on a round 12 cm (4.7 in) backplate. It reaches about 16 cm (6.3 in) from the wall to the centre of the shade.

What bulb does it take, and how is it installed?

It has an E27 socket for one bulb, and a standard US E26 bulb generally fits it; a warm filament-style bulb shows the glass at its best. It is hardwired to a wall junction box by a qualified electrician and runs on 90-260V AC, which suits standard US 120V wiring.

How long does delivery take, and can I return it?

Orders are processed in 1-3 days and delivered in 7-15 days from our suppliers' warehouses overseas. If it isn't right, you have 30 days to return it, and we cover the return shipping.
