About This Light
Kiyo is a small drum of white marble capped with a rounded block of dark-toned solid wood. Switched on, light passes through the stone and its soft grey veining comes forward, so the whole drum glows warm while the wooden cap stays in shadow above. Switched off, it reads as a quiet piece of pale stone on a long brown cord.
At 4.7 inches across it is a pendant for close quarters: hung low beside a bed in place of a table lamp, in a row of two or three over a kitchen island, or on its own above a small dining table or a reading chair. Because the shade is natural marble, its veining and tone differ from piece to piece, so no two are quite alike.
