About This Light
Obi is a small two-tier cylinder of natural stone, cream and pitted like travertine, wrapped at its middle by a band of walnut-tone wood. The light comes from a flat diffuser at the base and lays a warm pool on the surface below, while the thinner edges of the stone take on a faint glow of their own.
At 6.7 inches across it is made for close quarters: beside a bed in place of a table lamp, over a bar or kitchen island as a pair or trio, or alone in an entry. The pale, porous stone against the dark wood is what makes it, and it looks best where the texture can be seen up close.
