About This Light
Oboro is the Japanese word for a moon softened by haze, and that is how this light reads on the wall: a plain round disc of natural stone, lit from behind so a soft halo spreads around its edge while the face stays matte and calm. The stone is a pale, sand-and-cream travertine with its natural pitting and veining, so no two discs are quite alike.
Hang one over a bed in place of bedside lamps, at the end of a hallway, on a stair landing or beside a mirror. The 7.9 in suits a narrow wall, or a pair either side of a bed; the 11.8 in holds a wider wall on its own. Warm White gives the amber glow in the photos, Cool White a crisper, blue-white light.
