$229.00
-
Just a sphere of light
The small round plate sits behind the globe, so the fixture all but disappears and only the glowing ball remains.
-
Four sizes for any wall
Choose a 12, 15, 18 or 20 cm (4.7 to 7.9 in) globe: smaller ones by a bed or a mirror, larger ones on a stair wall or beside a door.
-
Matte or glossy, warm or cool
Frosted glass gives a soft, matte glow and glossy glass a pearl-like sheen, each with Warm White or Cool White light.
About This Light
Shinju is a single ball of milky opal glass set close to the wall on a small round plate, so the fixture all but disappears and only the sphere of light remains. Frosted glass gives a soft, matte, even glow; glossy glass gives a sleeker sphere with a pearl-like sheen and gentle reflections.
Four diameters let you scale it to the wall. The smaller globes suit a bedside, a hallway or either side of a mirror, while the 18 and 20 cm sizes hold their own on a stair wall or beside an entry door. They look especially good in groups of two to four, set at different heights.
- Sizes: 12 cm (4.7 in), 15 cm (5.9 in), 18 cm (7.1 in) or 20 cm (7.9 in) globe diameter
- Projection: the globe sits close to the wall, projecting roughly 10 to 17 cm (4 to 6.7 in) depending on size
- Glass: milky opal-white glass, Frosted (matte) or Glossy
- Wall plate: small chrome-finish round plate, 5 cm (2 in) across, with 3 cm (1.2 in) screw-hole spacing
- Light colour: Warm White or Cool White
- Socket: G9
- Voltage: AC 110–130 V, hardwired to a wall junction box; made for US wiring
Installation and care: Have a qualified electrician fix the plate over a wall junction box; the globe then fits onto the base. Wipe the glass with a soft, slightly damp cloth once it has cooled.

In the Room
01
A quiet globe on the stair wall
The 18 and 20 cm globes hold their own on a stair wall or beside an entry door, where a single sphere of light is all the wall needs. Set two to four at different heights for a softly lit run of steps.
02
Milky opal glass, almost no metal
The globe is milky opal-white glass, frosted for a soft, matte, even glow or glossy for a pearl-like sheen. Behind it, a chrome-finish plate only 5 cm (2 in) across keeps the fixture nearly invisible.
03
One plate, one globe, done
An electrician fixes the small plate over a wall junction box, and the globe then fits onto its base. It takes a G9 bulb and runs on US 110-130 V wiring, and the glass needs only a soft, slightly damp cloth once cool.
Questions
Which size should I choose?
The globe comes in 12, 15, 18 or 20 cm (4.7, 5.9, 7.1 or 7.9 in) diameters and projects roughly 10 to 17 cm (4 to 6.7 in) from the wall. The smaller sizes suit a bedside, a hallway or either side of a mirror; 18 and 20 cm hold their own on a stair wall or by an entry door.
How is it installed, and what bulb does it take?
Have a qualified electrician fix the 5 cm (2 in) plate over a wall junction box, then fit the globe onto the base. It has a G9 socket and runs on AC 110-130 V, made for US wiring.
How long does delivery take, and can I return it?
Orders are processed in 1-3 days and delivered in 7-15 days from our suppliers' warehouses overseas. If it isn't right, you have 30 days to return it, and we cover the return shipping.
